For the family, across all lines
From the Sun side — the line of the father, the father’s father, and all who stood before him — we carry structure, name, and the patterns of strength and silence passed hand to hand, sometimes as gift, sometimes as burden.
From the Moon side — the line of the mother, the mother’s mother, and all who came before her — we carry feeling, memory, and the patterns of care and ache passed heart to heart, sometimes as nourishment, sometimes as wound.
Every child is a meeting place of both. What the daughter carries from her mother, she will one day bring into a household not her own by birth, and it will become the unseen architecture of a new family. What the son carries from his father, he will carry forward as the shape of his own house.
This is the ancestral karma — not punishment, but pattern. Not fate, but inheritance, waiting to be understood.
We ask for the wisdom to see clearly: which patterns are dharma — right, true, worth keeping and passing on — and which patterns are only habit, only wound, only inherited suffering mistaken for identity. Let us not pass on what was never ours to carry. Let us not hand our children a debt we could have paid ourselves.
Where there is a cycle of silence, let this family choose to speak. Where there is a cycle of harshness, let this family choose to soften. Where there is a cycle of absence, let this family choose to stay. Where there is a cycle of fear, let this family choose to trust, even in small measure.
We honor the ones who came before us — Sun side and Moon side alike — knowing they, too, were carrying something they did not fully choose. We release them from blame. We release ourselves from repeating what no longer serves.
May the cosmic order that holds all things in balance hold this family too — not to freeze us in old shape, but to show us clearly what must continue and what must end here, with us, so it does not fall to the children after.
Let what is worth keeping flow forward like a river finding its course. Let what causes suffering stop here, in this generation, in this house.
So the pattern is not just inherited — it is finally, consciously, understood. And in understanding, it is broken, or it is blessed.
So may it be.
